This section consists of a number of short, textual, snapshots focusing upon incidents recorded by the author, Glenn Reeves, during a period of extended residence on the island of Siberut during the early 1990s and a brief period in the latter half of 2000, which also included a visit to Sipora. They are intended to give the reader a feel for the texture of daily life as well as providing insight into some of the areas and issues of concern to the local people.
